She has twice been named an EY Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist and led Globalization Partners to achieve a ranking of #6 on the 2016 Inc. 500 list of Fastest Growing Private Companies in America. She’s also the top-listed female CEO on the 2016 Inc. 500 list.
Prior to launching Globalization Partners, Nicole was a Managing Director of a firm which provided international HR, tax, legal, and compliance services to CFOs, HR Directors and General Counsel of fast-growing technology companies establishing subsidiaries and hiring in dozens of countries. Via her experience advising companies ranging from Tesla to HID Global on their international expansions, Nicole founded Globalization Partners with a mission to create an international PEO (Professional Employer Organization) and thereby make it faster and easier for companies to hire talented employees in any jurisdiction.
In her prior life, Nicole helped build High Street Partners, a software-enabled services firm which developed software to simplify management of global accounting, payroll and tax matters for CFOs and controllers. High Street Partners sold for approximately $100 million in 2014 and is now Radius, one of GP’s business partners. She’s also owned a small business in the Caribbean, and founded the Sweet Life School in rural Cambodia. Nicole holds an MBA in International Management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies. Nicole lives in Boston, loves to travel, and is inspired by helping make the world an easier and more cohesive place to manage a globalize business.
Nancy Cremins joins Globalization Partners as General Counsel. Nancy is known as one of Boston’s top lawyers for startups and entrepreneurial ventures, having been named as a Top 50 Women in Law, one of Boston’s “40 Under 40,” and “Fifty on Fire.” Besides her work focusing on employment law and dispute resolution over the last 10 years as a member of one of Boston’s well-known law firms, Nancy does incredible work within the community supporting female entrepreneurs. She’s the co-founder of an organization called SheStarts, and is also a board member for several non-profit organizations.
Nancy is a graduate of Boston College and the Northeastern University School of Law. She is a member of several societies including the Women’s Bar Association of Massachusetts.
Besides being wicked smart and having a passion for entrepreneurship, Nancy enjoys spending time with her family, collecting fabulous shoes and drinking good wine. Nancy is pretty fierce but makes time for fun with friends and the occasional dance party.
Debbie Millin has joined Globalization Partners as our Chief Operating Officer. Debbie’s specialization is supporting companies experiencing rapid growth build their systems and processes to scale. In the case of Globalization Partners, she joins early with the goal of helping the company retain it’s “Extremely Satisfied” Client Satisfaction Survey Results and continue to achieve its mission of making it easy for companies to hire people globally. With 20 years of operational, project management, and client relationship experience in a variety of industries, she is passionate about creating growth strategies at an executive level and translating them into tactical plans to bring operational excellence to internal processes, technology integration, sales operations, and account management.
She is an active member of The Boston Club as well as The Harvard Club of Boston, serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for Special Olympics of Massachusetts, and is an active alumna of Bentley University currently serving on the Dean’s Business Advisory Council.
Melissa (Green) Cooper has a tremendous amount of experience providing international HR and finance management services to fast-growing multinational companies. She is a widely experienced global finance/international expansion professional with a track record of success building professional services organizations to scale. Melissa has a broad understanding of global business compliance issues, including employment law in multiple countries, international accounting, and local compliance requirements, gained over 9+ years advising the CFOs, controllers and HR directors of venture backed and public companies expanding their international operations. She has wide practical experience of individual and multi country business expansions into more than 60 countries.
Melissa is a graduate of Fairfield University with a B.S. in accounting. She started her career with KPMG, and subsequently worked with a series of fast-growing companies in progressively senior roles, culminating as controller of a legal services firm. She worked with High Street Partners, where she managed the international operations and expansions for up to 100 companies hiring in countries spanning the globe. After working in the client services division of High Street Partners for several years, Melissa led the charge to streamline the firms’ operations and billing processes. She joined Globalization Partners with a focus on providing excellent ongoing support to each of our clients and building our business to scale. Melissa is an avid athlete who enjoys any outdoor activity including running, volleyball, and baseball. She’s recently found a new passion in Pure Barre. Originally from Boston, she found her true home in San Diego, California.
Jane has a passion for helping her clients scale their overseas operations by removing red tape, and helping them find the fastest and most effective way to bring new employees on board. She spent nearly five years working for High Street Partners, advising CFOs, controllers and VPs of HR on how to expand in over 60 countries from a payroll, accounting, tax, HR and compliance perspective. Before she relocated to the US from the UK, she worked in London as a headhunter, primarily helping US companies to locate the best talent to build out their pan-European organizations. She is therefore acutely aware of the cultural differences that US firms encounter in doing business overseas.
Jane is a graduate of the University of Surrey in Guildford, UK, with a B Sc. In Linguistics and International Relations. She speaks fluent German, plus some French and Swedish. While waiting for her green card in the US, she took up triathlon and wrote a book about it, and she still runs, bikes and swims. She also finds time to sing in a choir and ring handbells. After several years in the San Francisco Bay Area, Jane now resides in San Diego, California.
Teresa James is an Information Systems executive and creative thinker specializing in leading technology teams and managing a diverse portfolio of technologies that supports revenue growth, streamlines information sharing and workflow, improves productivity, and fosters an organization’s success in delivering its strategic mission.
Before joining Globalization Partners, Teresa co-founded Studio Crossings, a co-working space for entrepreneurs in the Boston area and her own technology consulting practice, TJ Solutions Group. She was also Cloud CIO at Advance 2000 where she developed and delivered end-to-end IT managed services and cloud-based solutions, and CIO at Sasaki Associates where she was responsible for IT strategy. Teresa is a graduate of Missouri State University and holds a Master’s of Science degree in Education from Emporia State University. She is quite a mix of an educator, technologist and leader. She also volunteers as the Site Manager for South Shore Habitat for Humanity and dedicates time to her local community of Medfield MA in town-related planning efforts.
Elisa comes to Globalization Partners from the world of travel risk management where she helped implement strategic product and marketing initiatives including product portfolio management and the SAFe Agile process. Prior to that, Elisa led the early Marketing strategies and initiatives at High Street Partners where she was responsible for creating and executing the overarching Marketing plan as well as building a highly efficient Marketing team. When she’s not writing blogs, doing SEO research or thinking about nurture campaigns she can be found swimming, biking, running and doing triathlons.
Elizabeth Finn Payne, or Liz, is Senior Director of Client Services at Globalization Partners. Prior to joining the team, she worked as a Controller for WuXi NextCODE Genomics where she helped implement a travel program and policies, a new payroll provider and a new expense and time keeping system. Prior to that, Liz spent several years with High Street Partners (bought by Radius in 2014) there she helped the company grow from 50 or so employees to over 500. She assisted clients with complex entity and payroll set up in countries around the world and eventually became a Director in the Advisory group where she worked with clients on global expansion strategy, entity setup and on-going entity management and hiring best practices.
Liz is a CPA, who holds an MBA and MS in Accounting from the University of San Diego. After completing graduate school, Liz spent several years with KPMG and Edelstein and Co. She received a B.A from the College of the Holy Cross. Liz has a sharp sense of humor and a quick wit. Although she has a little less free time now that she has an infant son, Liz enjoys hiking, watching English murder mysteries, reading and making an ardent attempt at gardening.
As National Director of Business Development, David Hughson is responsible for developing a network of strategic partners around the world. For more than 10 years, David has demonstrated a passion for helping businesses to grow globally, and his focus has been on enabling international expansion for US companies. His enthusiasm for connecting people and businesses to drive successful outcomes is integral to his success.
Prior to joining Globalization Partners, David was Director of Channels and Business Development at Radius where he built strategic partnerships with some of the most respected brands in banking, insurance, human resources, technology and more. Under Hughson’s leadership, the Radius Global Partner Program generated millions of dollars in revenue and grew to include technology integrations, reseller partnerships, a program of events in key markets across the U.S. and educational webinars. Prior to joining Radius, Hughson served as manager of global channels at High Street Partners, an internal business software and service provider, which was acquired by Radius in 2014. David also helped lead the UK Government’s foreign direct investment activities for high growth technology businesses in the U.S. with UK Trade & Investment, and he worked with hundreds of US technology companies to advise on international expansion strategy.
David graduated from the University of Connecticut and lives in the Boston area with his wife and two kids. A competitive runner, he has completed four marathons, finishing the NYC marathon in under 3 hours!
