The London & Partners’ Mayor’s International Business Programme and Globalization Partners today announced a strategic partnership to help London-based scaleups expand internationally.

Globalization Partners is a Global Employer of Record (EOR) that helps simplify global expansion by enabling companies to hire and retain talent in 180+ countries.

Thanks to this partnership, programme members will be able to access the most current information and tools they need to navigate the operational challenges of international expansion –in particular, legal regulations, onboarding and compliance.

Companies on the programme already benefit from a wide range of support services, including a mentoring scheme, workshops and events, access to trade missions and introductions to top corporates all over the world.

Deputy Mayor for Business and Enterprise, Rajesh Agrawal, said:

“Coronavirus has had a huge impact on businesses here in London and around the world, but the ambition of the capital’s scaleups shows no signs of slowing down. With Globalization Partners joining the Mayor’s International Business Programme as an official partner, we will continue to provide London’s dynamic businesses with the support and guidance they need to expand and flourish in new markets.”

Nick Adams, Vice President of Sales for Globalization Partners, said:

“Globalization Partners is delighted to strategically partner with London & Partners, London’s official trade and investment agency. We are excited to join forces to provide guidance and counsel to the UK’s thriving startup and scaleup communities, advising them on how they can utilise an Employer of Record to expand internationally without the need to create their own legal entities or branch offices around the world. Today’s young and emerging tech companies will be tomorrow’s industry leaders and we are honoured to play a part in helping them to reach their goals.”

Globalization Partners joins the likes of Collinson, KPMG, Lloyds Bank, Microsoft, Taylor Wessing and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati as corporate partners of the Mayor’s International Business Programme (MIBP). Through these partnerships, the MIBP has helped more than 900 London-based companies internationalise to date, creating more than 1700 jobs for the global economy.

During lockdown, the programme continued to keep global expansion plans moving for London scaleups, launching its first series of virtual trade missions in May and announcing its partnership with Microsoft in June.

Sara French, Director of Trade & Growth at London & Partners, added:

“Maintaining global dialogue is central to everything we do here at the Mayor’s International Business Programme. In the current climate, it is so important that businesses do not miss out on game-changing international expansion opportunities. I am thrilled that Globalization Partners is joining us as we continue to help London-based businesses meet their growth ambitions. Their market knowledge and specialism in remote expansion are enormous assets to the programme.”

The MIBP welcomes a new cohort of companies every quarter, with its 17th cohort launching in September. London-based scaleups are invited to find out more and apply for a place by visiting:

To note, the deadline to apply to the upcoming cohort is at 11.59pm on Friday 11th September. Any applications received beyond that date will be rolled over to the 18thcohort, which will launch in December.
