The situation: navigating M&A transition
Black Duck was a business unit of Synopsys until October 1, 2024, when it became an independent company. Black Duck faced HR challenges transitioning employees who had been employed through Synopsys’ global entities. Without established legal entities in all regions where employees were based, Black Duck needed a solution to compliantly transfer talent while adhering to local labor laws, payroll regulations, and employment contracts.
