As Chief Operating Officer Melissa Cooper, is responsible for scaling the company’s business operations, operational governance, cross-functional initiative management and overseeing global operating cadences. She works in close collaboration with Chief Executive Officer, Bob Cahill in driving cross-functional alignment, collaborative decision-making and communication, and the execution of company strategy.
Melissa joined G-P in April 2014 and previously served as the company’s Chief Customer Officer, in addition to several other positions within the company. For the past four years, she’s led Global Operations, building a team of Account Managers and HR experts responsible for providing best-in-class customer service to our customers and professionals.
Melissa started her career with KPMG, and subsequently worked with a series of fast-growing companies in progressively senior roles, culminating as controller of a legal services firm. She worked with High Street Partners, where she managed the international operations and expansions for up to 100 companies hiring in countries spanning the globe. After working in the client services division of High Street Partners for several years, Melissa led the charge to streamline the firms’ operations and billing processes. Melissa has a broad understanding of global business compliance issues, including employment law in multiple countries, international accounting, and local compliance requirements, gained over 12 years advising the CFOs, controllers and HR directors of venture backed and public companies expanding their international operations.
Melissa is a graduate of Fairfield University with a B.S. degree in accounting. She is an avid athlete who enjoys any outdoor activity including running, volleyball, and baseball — and Pure Barre, of late. Originally from Boston, she currently lives in San Diego, California with her husband and two young children.
