Employees are a company’s most valuable asset, so when expanding to a new location, you’ll need to find talented individuals to help your business thrive. However, finding the time to recruit candidates, meet the Kyrgyz Republic’s employment laws, and onboard new hires can be complex.

However, working with G-P can eliminate the challenges of hiring and give you the time you need to focus on running your company. As a global EOR, you can leverage our entity infrastructure to hire employees anywhere in the world quickly and compliantly.

Recruiting in Kyrgyzstan

Recruiting in the Kyrgyz Republic can be challenging as the working language tends to be Kyrgyz or Russian. If you don’t speak either language fluently, you’ll need to hire a translator to help you communicate with potential candidates.

Laws against discrimination in Kyrgyzstan

An important step to staffing your business is ensuring everyone follows the right laws and regulations. For example, the Labor Code gives everyone an equal opportunity. Companies cannot discriminate against someone based on race, nationality, language, origin, age, residence, political beliefs, or anything else unrelated to the worker’s business qualities or results. Unequal payment is also not allowed.

Anyone who feels that they experienced employment discrimination can take legal action with a statement for recovery of their violated rights, compensation of any material damage, or compensation of moral harm.

It’s important to ensure your hiring process does not include any discriminatory practices. Once new hires join your company, it’s important to make sure everyone has equal opportunities under the law.

How to hire employees in Kyrgyzstan

The Kyrgyz Republic’s employment compliance laws require putting an employment contract in place to hire all employees. You can use a fixed-term or indefinite contract depending on the position, but fixed-term contracts cannot extend for more than 5 years.

All contracts should be written in the local language and provide information about benefits, compensation, entitlement and termination terms, and more. Make sure all compensation, salary, and monetary bonuses are in Kyrgyzstani som instead of any other currency.

Kyrgyzstan employment laws

Your company is responsible for following all of the Kyrgyz Republic’s employment compliance laws, including working hours. The country’s legislation limits working hours per day, week, and month, and separates categories into normal working hours, short-time working, and part-time working.

Normal working hours cannot exceed 40 hours a week, while short-time working hours depend on the type of employee. Part-time employees should get paid in proportion to the hours they work, and you should include those hours in the employment contract.

Onboarding in Kyrgyzstan

After hiring the right Kyrgyz Republic employees, you need to onboard them. Every company has different goals impacting the way they want to onboard employees. For example, if you’re hiring employees for highly technical positions, you may want to provide more robust job training. Some of the steps you can take to make employees comfortable throughout the onboarding process include:

  • Reviewing the employment contract and other documents the employee needs to sign
  • Offering job training specific to the employee’s position
  • Meeting with new hires on their first day or during the first week
  • Creating events or team-building activities for all new hires to get to know each other
