In Kosovo, employment contracts can be oral or written, but it is best practice to put a strong, written contract in place, in Albanian or Serbian, which spells out the terms of the employee’s compensation, benefits, and termination requirements.
An offer letter and employment contract in Kosovo should always state the salary and any compensation amounts in euros rather than another currency.

Paying taxes in Kosovo
The standard corporate tax rate in the state is 10%. Other taxes vary based on the industry, and taxpayers making up to EUR 30,000 can choose to pay tax on a gross income basis. Kosovo uses a pay-as-you-earn (PAYE) system for personal income taxes, so employers are responsible for withholding taxes (pension contributions and salary tax) from employees’ wages.
